Miller Electric is locally owned by the Gocher family of Bradenton, Florida. The Gocher Family has owned the company since 2003. Miller Electric is a state certified electrical contracting company licensed by the State of Florida, EC13003233 and EC13007205.
Building a Reputation Through Hard Work:
Miller Electric has been providing electrical services to the residents of the Town of Longboat Key for over 35 years. Ed Gocher says that working on Longboat Key has made them a better company because of the high standards of the Longboat Key Building Department and his competent crew who went over 6 1/2 years without a failed inspection.

Donations to local Foster kids during the Holidays
Miller Electric contributes to the community with donations to local community centers, Anna Maria Chamber of Commerce functions, and to holiday donations for children. Over the years Owner Ed Gocher donated many hours coaching youth baseball with over 820 games under his belt.

Work and Play the Gocher Family:
Ed Gocher loves his work, his customers and his employees. He says, ” It’s all about the family!” When he’s not working, he loves spending recreation time with his wife Susan and three sons Adam, Tyler, and Shawn. Growing up, a lot of the boys’ time was spent playing baseball as Little League, Little League All Star, and the traveling AAU League. When baseball was in the far and few and between off seasons, fishing was where the family spent the rest of the time. Between fishing the local waters of the Greater Tampa Bay, Sarasota, and Bradenton area or the Florida Keys, the Gochers bring in the big catch every time.
Susan Gocher works in the office and is the glue that keeps the company together. Susan has also spent many days donating her time in the community during Chamber of Commerce events and has been a key part of the company since day one. She also enjoys hitting the water just like the Gocher men and is an avid diver and loves fishing along side her boys.
Shawn graduated from college in 2006 and is now out on his own doing remarkably well.
Tyler learned the family business by working in the shop during High School. He then worked full time in the field, later attending the Electrical Apprenticeship program. Upon graduation, he qualified to take the State of Florida Unlimited Electrical Contractor License examination. He passed the exams and now holds State License Number EC13007205. He has worked his way up the company ladder to Vice President in 2014. He is now the company President, with Ed easing into retirement.
Adam, our youngest, graduated from College in 2018 while working in the field and in the office between classes. He is now the company’s Vice President.
Miller Electric’s Qualified Electrical Staff:
The company prides itself with providing quality electrical service and keeping your safety and needs a top priority. Miller Electric hires only qualified staff who have demonstrated skill and a number of years of electrical working experience. Ed Gocher advises that working with electricity is a very complex trade- one that requires years of experience in the field.
